SEND IN THE CLOWNS!!!

This will be my third set of clowns.  The first, done in the 1980's were large porcelain dolls.  My second set were smaller, original dolls sculpted from polymer clay.  Each set represented the history of clowns and are all in private collection.  This group, my last, are all original porcelain dolls in the miniature, 1:12 dollhouse scale.

Each of the dolls is a one of a kind original that will never be duplicated.  All are signed and dated and come with a certificate.

CONSTRUCTION

I have made these dolls with brass rods going through their feet and up into the body.  The wooden stands have a tiny hole that the rods fit into making the dolls stand without the need of a visable dollstand.  Each stand has been made to compliment the individual doll.  The dolls have porcelain heads, arms/hands and legs/feet.  All painting is done with china paints (NO acrylics) and fired many times.  The clothes are all sewn, NOT glued, and are not removeable.   As with my other clowns, the dolls represent the history of clowns from the medievil court jester to the present day circus clown.  Some are what I call the French Romantic Clowns...they are just for beauty's sake.
